Alfamation Functional Tester for Battery Management System

Lissone, Italy – April 18, 2019 - Alfamation, a provider of state-of-the-art turnkey test and measurement solutions, has won an order for the delivery of functional testers to a leading automotive Tier 1 supplier of battery management systems (BMS) for Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries.

BMS functional test systems are designed for high volume manufacturing and accurately perform the Battery Management System assembly’s functionalities such as:

• Battery cell stack inputs feeding through modular battery cell simulators
• High accuracy current shunt bipolar calibration
• Test of temp sensors inputs
• Test of safety relays control

Alfamation solution is a flexible modular system based on proprietary Hyperion™ workstation deployed as end of line/production test stations. The system incorporates Alfamation Supernova™ test executive based upon NI TestStand along with the application specific instruments configuration for best reliability, accuracy, productivity.

A tailored single or dual press test fixture has been designed to permit more DUTs to be tested by sharing a common base platform easy scalable and adaptable to fit interchangeable fixtures reducing system cost and lead times. The test fixtures can get interchanged in less than a minute.Furthermore, its flexibility means that it can be upgraded and reconfigured for various current and voltage ranges, battery clamps and other aspects.
